1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Closure Engine ("Closure," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you visit closure.fast, purchase Closure, receive delivery, or ask for support.

Closure is a local command-line tool. It does not include product telemetry or send your repository contents, source code, selections, bindings, or evidence to us. If you connect Closure's output or files to another service, that service's policy governs its processing.

2. Information we receive

We may receive these limited categories of information:

  • Purchase and delivery information: your email address, product, amount, currency, order identifiers, payment status, and purchase time. We do not receive your full card number.
  • Support communications: the address you contact us from, the content of your message, and files or diagnostic details you choose to provide.
  • Basic website request data: our hosting and security providers may process IP address, user-agent, requested URL, and timestamps in ordinary server logs needed to deliver and protect the site.

3. How we use information

We use personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • confirm purchases and deliver the software and instructions;
  • answer product, delivery, refund, and support requests;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  • maintain purchase and license records; and
  • comply with accounting, tax, legal, and payment obligations.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not send marketing email unless you separately ask to receive it or provide consent for it.

4. When information is shared

We share information only with service providers that help operate the site, checkout, email, delivery, security, and recordkeeping; when you direct us to; or when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transfer.

Stripe and Link process checkout and transaction information under their own terms and privacy notices. When Managed Payments is enabled, Link acts as the merchant of record and provides transaction-level support. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy before paying.

Service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, transfers are handled using appropriate legal safeguards.

5. Retention and security

We retain purchase, license, refund, and support records only as long as reasonably needed for delivery, support, fraud prevention, accounting, legal obligations, and resolving disputes. Different records may have different retention periods.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please do not send secrets, credentials, private keys, full payment-card data, or unnecessary repository contents in a support message.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to certain processing. Email us from the address connected to your request. We may need to verify your identity, and legal recordkeeping duties may limit deletion.

Payment and Link-account requests may need to be handled directly by Stripe or Link because they control that information. We will direct you to the appropriate channel when needed.

Closure is intended for developers and organizations, not children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product or its data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current version. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will provide notice when required by law.
